"Can you spot the two handsome Wigan BNP members in these shots?"It was an early start yesterday morning as a large group of Wigan and Leigh BNP activists set out for Lverpool town centre in support of The Liverpool Thirteen which saw the aformentioned arrested and detained last weekend for distributing the "very" legal British National Party publication "Racism Cuts Both Ways......The Scandal of Our Age."
But, whilst we were tucking into our pre- demonstration toast and marmalade accompanied by a grateful hot mug of tea (supplied by the lovely Vi, I may add) we all simultaneously received text messages reporting that all charges had been dropped by the Merseyside (Gestapo) Police against The Liverpool Thirteen!! Excellent news indeed!!
Anyway, although many of us from the Wigan and Leigh BNP had planned to distribute the "offending" BNP publication in Liverpool town centre yesterday regardless of the consequence, it was heartwarming to now know that the Powers That Be had retracted their heavy handed tactics and that we could now distribute this literature without the fear of persecution hanging over our heads; of which we duly did.
We set off from Bryn train station just after ten in the morning and after stopping at every station between Wigan and Liverpool we eventually arrived at Liverpool Lime Street station just after eleven to be met by another trio of Wigan and Leigh BNP activist at the terminal.
A short walk from Lime Street station took us to the steps of Liverpool's St.Geoges Hall where other BNP activists and supporters had arranged to meet. From there we were escorted by the many numbers from the Merseyside Police Force straight into the heart of Liverpool town centre to begin the distribution of "Racism Cuts Both Ways."
We'd received reports that the animals of the far left had broken from their pen and were negotiating the cattle grids to try and counteract our own leafletting and peaceful protest. But, to the tribute of the Merseyside Police (on this occasion) their "One man and his Dog" approach managed to contain the screaming lunatics of the far left rabble. Although, one or two broke through in a limp wristed attempt to scare us which was laughable and futile, but we managed to continue to distribute thousands of copies of "Racism Cuts Both Ways to the appreciative scousers unhindered as more and more BNP activists arrived, and if it wasn't for Mr Arthur Kemp turning up with a fresh batch of literature, we'd have ran dry earlier than we had planned! It was also an afternoon when I got my Badge of Honour, kindly given by the members of Liverpool BNP Branch, declaring "I'm On The List" a truly proud and emotionally moment indeed. "Pass the tissues, please"
"Something to hide have we or just embarassed?"
"Mumsy and Papa will love these piccy's of our Quentin and his friend Rupert!"
One of our team, Morgan; managed to gain a great vantage point in which to record the afternoon's preceedings (and to keep warm!) on his newly accquired video recorder, but this only after asking the BNP's Deputy Chairman Simon Darby for instructions on how to turn the bloody thing on!
I did notice and went closer to hear one Asian man who accompanied by his subdued wife and kids trying to remonstrate to a police officer that he and his family had been racially abused as they had passed our gathering! Fair play to the officer, who basically told him and his family to piss off as he knew this wasn't the case and that the money the man thought he would get for being "racially abused" is staying firmly put in your's and mine pockets! There where many cameras and recordings around to nullify this chap's bogus claim! And it just isn't the way we behave I'm afraid.
At around 1:15 pm Pete Molloy, one of those Liverpool Thirteen arrested and organiser of the day's events called time on our hugely successful afternoon in the town centre, on the advice of the police as I think it was time for those rabble rousing animals to be fed, watered and in some cases led back to the yard to be milked no doubt! Or, it could have been due the fact that it was time for the attending officers to end their shift?
So, it was back to the steps of St.Georges Hall for a closing speech and a big thank you from Chairman Nick Griffin. On the way back we got one or two laughable shouts of "Nazi's" from individuals from the other side of the road, those who call us such, have no really understanding of what the BNP is really about and cheap shots like this only goes to show who the real Nazi's and fascists are and those who want us to surrender our lands, heritage and culture to foreign invaders!!!
An excellent closing speech by Nick, and then it was off back to Lime Street and for a couple of welcomed drinks on arriving in Wigan before catching the bus back to Leigh.
