Out on the election trail

Another seemingly productive day out on the election trail yesterday. Although a little unorthodox in my method, it certainly seems to be working.

So, were better to get a large gathering of potential voters in one place, where it's warm and dry and the people are usually in a jovial mood?

Yes, you've guessed it.........the local pub!

Saturday afternoon, is obviously the most popular day to frequent the pub, so instead of wasting shoe leather canvassing door to door, we took advantage of the fact that a number of live football games were being shown in many of our local pubs in the Leigh South ward that would command a larger than normal turn out and we weren't disappointed.

I certainly couldn't see our local Labour Party candidate taking this same route, my goodness no! I wouldn't want him there either, specifically for his own safety more than anything else. The venom and anger directed from the people I met, towards this ruling Labour Party was vicious to say the very least. Although, I don't condone using such distaste in conversation, I can thoroughly understand their aggrievance and annoyance at what is being done to this once great nation of ours.

What I do say to these individuals who harbour such distain at how our country is being run (and it certainly worked for me) and that's to get involved, if possible, with the local BNP unit and share your thoughts and concerns with so many other like minded individuals. And it's often such a delight to see the faces of the new supporters and members who turn up with much anticipation, and those expecting to see the media generated stereotypical thug, only to discover the room full of decent, law-abiding, honest and hardworking people, just like them.

Anyway, back to telling you about our 'cunning' plan to win voters over using the local hostelries as my campaign setting. What I and a few supporters do, is strike up a conversation regarding the local elections near to a large gathering and emphasise the British National Party this always prompts someone from the gathering to add their comment, and then we strike up a conversation with them and their friends, and then it's a case of winning them over with truthful policies and dispelling the myths that they hear or read about regarding those nasty BNP people. I Sell them a few copies of the Voice of Freedom paper give out numerous VOTE BNP posters and many handshakes later, we're on our way to the next pub! Happy days!

Unfortunately, it's back to the grindstone for the rest of the campaign, were we'll be handing out the rest of my leaflets on foot!

Just one final note: as I said in my last post, the general feeling amongst the members and supporters of the BNP is monumentally positive at this moment in time, but, I will reiterate that we do not under any circumstances get too carried away. We still have a battle with the authorities to contend with on the counting night, and no doubt they'll have one or two tricks up their sleeves to salvage some corrupt pride?

Lo and behold I now see that the state run gutter press this morning are running a story on our London Mayoral Candidate: Richard Barnbrook. Looks like our party coffers will be swelled even further when we win the libel case against the paper in question.

A truly excellent idea. I myself have employed this tactic for many years.

In fact it has become necessary of a Saturday to usually at least 10 pubs to get the message out to as many people as possible.

You can reinforce this message with hair of the dog on a Sunday Morning at your local club.
